Reflectionless analytic difference operators II. Connection with nonlocal Toda solitons.
When equipped with a suitable time dependence, the difference operators and their reflectionless eigenfunctions from the first lecture can be tied in with a soliton evolution equation. This equation may be viewed as a continuous and nonlocal version of the Toda lattice. We present this relation in some detail. Towards the end of the lecture we also survey Hilbert space features of the difference operators with ‘spectral data’ corresponding to N-soliton solutions.
