The emerging theory of analyzable functions and its relevance to the “Painlevé property and integrability” of difference equations
The last few years have seen an enormous development of parallels between integrable differential equations and difference equations with the “singularity confinement property,” but the nonlocalness of the latter prevents an ideal correspondence. A new theory in analysis, vastly generalizing the concept of analyticity at a point, may help to complete the parallelism.
