Periodic cycles and collapse in a developed economic society
A mathematical model is proposed for the evolution in time of a developed industrialized society. The corresponding dynamical system belongs to the class of Hamiltonian Lotka-Volterra systems with variable coefficients. For the case of constant coefficients, the necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for existence of periodic cycles and alternatively for a collapse of one of the major institutions of the society. For the general case of time-dependent coefficients, the sufficient conditions for both dynamical regimes are presented.
